Alejandro Mondragon, Vice President, Global Retail GFK kick-started the forum with a synopsis of the ‘Past, Present & Future Of Retail’. Amanda Jones, VP/GM, The Hershey Company, USA gave a memorable keynote presentation, ‘Rethinking Retail Leadership’ in which she highlighted how leadership should be managed in a disruptive world. The following case study from Ilona van Wegen, Head of Industry (Retail & Consumer Products) describing ‘New Retail: Data-Driven Transformation’ with the relationship between consumers & technology. Mike Hominick, Retail Marketing Manager, Royal Dutch Shell, UK focused on a growing major trend in ‘Mobile Retailing & Mobile Customers’ allowing us an insight into customer behaviour & mobile application development.

Technology & Innovation

Professor Diana Derval, Chair, Research Director, DervalResearch brought us a thoroughly entertaining & informative presentation with ‘Packaging & Innovations Around It’ describing design features for optimum user experience. Florian Fiedler, Senior Manager – Innovation & Trends, Adidas Group distinguished the differences in trends in experience economy, micro-experiences, & augmented reality with ‘Innovations In Retail-Shaping The Future Of Shopping’

Day 2 

Future Trends In Retail

Jerry Wang, Project Manager, HikVision detailed the ‘Smart Retail Solution’ with reference to HikVision & their involvement with developing AI/Deep learning surveillance. Misha Krunic, CEO, Price2Spy delivered an interesting presentation on ‘Online Price Monitoring: Important Decisions To Be Made’ discussing the next phase in pricing strategies.


Ronny Gottschlich, CEO Heunadel.com, Former CEO Lidl, lead us through ‘Product Branding & Why It Is Essential In Retail’ while reaffirming that passion is necessary for engaging consumers. Adrian Swinscoe, Chairman, Advisor, Best Selling Author & Forbes Contributor gave a passionate case study analysis of ‘Keeping The Customer At The Heart Of Your Store’ with a focus on customer-centric considerations.


Thanks to the excellent staff of the Sheraton Hotel & Resorts, Amsterdam, the networking dinner received numerous compliments. Along with this, everything requested from the production team including lights etc was provided immediately and they were on hand for anything else the team may have needed.
