Carlos Härtel is Chief Technology and Innovation Officer for GE in Europe. He is responsible for driving new product and technology development in the region, closely partnering with GE’s global businesses. Carlos Härtel leads co-creation efforts with key customers, develops GE’s access to world-class R&D partners and infrastructure, and accelerates the transfer and commercialization of advanced technologies. Together with GE Digital and the company’s industrial divisions, he is responsible for the innovation agenda in Europe. He is also General Manager of GE’s European Research Center in Garching near Munich. From October 2015 until July 2016, Carlos Härtel was President and CEO for GE in Germany and Austria, managing GE’s operations in these countries, creating and implementing strategy and coordinating cross-business growth initiatives.
Carlos will be discussing ‘Ideas to Products – Innovation Management at GE’. Within this, he will be highlighting how to understand industrial ecosystems to develop innovation strategies & accelerating the adoption of new technologies by breakout moves. A focus will be put on organising R&D for synergy and cross-fertilization across business and applications.
